Support staff pay award - Current position
Agreement has been reached on the 2025 pay award for Local Government Services (LGS) (Green Book) employees. The pay offer of
3.2% has been formally accepted, and implementation can now proceed. While Unite has declined to be named in the Local Government Association (LGA) circular, the necessary majority was achieved by the NJC, allowing the award to be confirmed. Employers are now advised to apply the revised pay rates in line with the agreement. Maintained schools must follow local authority direction in respect of applying the pay award. However, academies and trusts have autonomy to now to proceed.
Notification deadlines
To ensure timely application of the award, please submit your decision by the 1st of the month prior to the payroll month in which you want it applied.
